October 16, 2010 - Sail from Jeh to Buoj
The benefit of not going to Fiji is that when we sail someplace, it's not usually for more than a day. |
Quincy and I hang out in the dodger as we're underway. He's showing me his Leapster games. I wish they had those when I was younger. |

October 16, 2010 - Quincy Learns To Dive at Buoj
Paul gives Quincy some diving lessons. Quincy appears a bit unsure. |
Paul is explaining that he is going to "help" Quincy dive. |
Paul's "help" is pretty much launching Quincy head first into the water. |
It appears to get the job done, though. It looks like a great beginning dive. |
And Quincy seems to like it. |
October 18, 2010 - Fun In and Around Buoj
Quincy, John, and Paul headed out for a morning of fishing. They caught an aku and got to play with dolphins! |
I had fun watching the fish around the boat that morning. There were lots and lots of non-stinging jellyfish floating near the surface, and the fish would come all the way up to the surface to take bites of them. |
When TC and I went on shore, we found two animals hiding in one of the wood sheds. Can you find them? |
October 19, 2010 - Goodbye Buoj
We found Lee and a friend working on the Horiuchi's outrigger. |
Quincy loved playing with the kitten. |
We got a group picture with the Cherokee crew and the Horiuchi's. Flomina loved Quincy. |
Flomina's Marshallese oven - she said it is "lukuun eman." It is 14 years old. |

October 19, 2010 - Hello Katchii
As we arrived in the early evening, there were three outrigger boats out fishing (two shown here). |
The third one had a colorful sail. |
Quincy and John decided to go out for some fun on the SUP. |
I love these kids' all-natural seesaw. |
John and Q catch a wave. |
Then Q and TC caught waves in the kayak. |
John has fun playing in the small waves. |
